North Ohio Street - Southbound Traffic Shifting to New Pavement July 28th, 2022

Starting Thursday July 28th, 2022, the contractor for the North Ohio Street project will shift traffic over to the lane with the newly installed asphalt surface.  Ohio Street traffic will still be flowing in the same southbound direction, but vehicles will move into the lane with newly installed asphalt so the contractor can begin tearing out the old asphalt on the other side.

Beginning Friday, July 29th, barricades will be removed for all intersections on the east side of Ohio Street (e.g. Woodland, Ranchwood, Arnold, Huntington, David, etc.) and those intersections will reopen to Ohio Street traffic.

The contractor is expected to begin milling the old asphalt on the west side of the road on Friday (weather contingent) of this week.  The following intersections on the west side of Ohio Street will remain open as access points: Elm Drive, the south entrance of Lakeshore Drive, the Shryock Park entrance, and Limerick Lane.  Until new asphalt is installed, all other intersections on the west side of Ohio will remain closed.  If you have a home on the west side with a direct driveway connection to Ohio Street, the contractor Kansas Paving is responsible for contacting you to coordinate access.

If you are a resident of Lakeside Estates on the west side of Ohio Street, you may utilize the connection the City constructed between Elm Drive and City Lake road if you wish to leave or gain access your homes without having to navigate the Ohio Street construction zone.   Otherwise, you can access southbound traffic on Ohio Street at the Elm Drive intersection.
