At the May 16, 2022 City Council Meeting, Mayor Mike Rawlings signed a proclamation recognizing May 21, 2022 as Kids to Parks Day, which is a national day of outdoor play celebrated annually on the third Saturday of May and organized by the National Park Trust.  On this day, we recognize the importance of local parks on the physical, social, and emotional health of children across the country.

Augusta has a number of public parks and recreational amenities which are enjoyed by our residents and visitors every day. We encourage the children and families in our community to spend some time tomorrow outdoors enjoying these amenities.  We want to especially celebrate the importance and value of public parks as we move forward with the process of replacing Play Park Pointe.
