City Lowering Water Level at Augusta City Lake

The City of Augusta is currently working on plans to repair areas of erosion on the dam at City Lake that were discovered during a recent dam inspection.  To limit further erosion caused by wave activity on the dam, the City will be lowering the lake water level by 24 inches. The water level will remain lowered until the necessary repairs have been completed.  There is no concern of imminent dam failure; this action is being taken to prevent further erosion caused by waves. The City Engineer is currently working on a scope of work to make the necessary repairs to the dam.
