(UPDATE: Event Cancelled) Augusta Municipal Airport to Host Aviation Career Day and Open House Event on April 22, 2022

UPDATE: Due to forecasted inclement weather, this event has been CANCELLED. Staff is currently looking into the possibility of rescheduling it.

Augusta Municipal Airport (AMA) is hosting the inaugural Aviation Career Day and Open House Event on April 22, 2022 from 8:00 am CDT to 4:00 pm CDT. While this may be the first year AMA has hosted Aviation Career Day and Open House, the event was wildly successful at another airport. This fun, educational event is free and open to the public and aims to showcase aviation and aviation careers. Multiple aviation industry professionals will be located at several stations, depending on career category. Attendees can expect to visit several stations at the airport; learn about aviation by speaking to industry professionals; view various aviation static displays; and observe aviation STEM demonstrations.

Wichita State University Tech, Wichita State University National Institute for Aviation Research, Butler County Community College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Hesston College, and Kansas State University are among the institutions confirmed to participate in the event. 

Although this event is open to the public, and walk-ins are welcome, large groups (20 or more) are encouraged to contact the airport for scheduling purposes at or by emailing RSeif@AugustaGov.Org.
